Wow! What an exceptional night at the Oklahoma Trucking Association’s Annual Safety Awards Banquet! When members of the FTCT Team are recognized, it is a proud moment, and this was one for the books.
First, Kevin Black was recognized for two million miles driven safely…TWO MILLION MILES SAFELY! That equates to over 8 trips to the moon. And, most importantly, Kevin drove those miles safely with zero preventable accidents or incidents. What makes this moment historical is Kevin was our first OTR Safety Professional to achieve one million miles driven safely with FTCT, and now he is our first to hit two million miles safely driven. What an incredible accomplishment. If you know Kevin, you know he is the most humble of people. You won’t find him bragging about his accomplishment, so we will at every opportunity as we appreciate Kevin’s ongoing commitment and dedication to safety, to FTC Transportation, and to serving Feed the Children every mile. Way to go, Kevin!
Each year, the OTA recognizes a handful of drivers as Oklahoma Safety Professionals. Drivers are nominated by their companies, by then chosen by a panel of safety professionals in conjunction with the OTA based on their safety record and their service both through work and in their community. Jeremy Slaughter, much like Kevin, is humble and quiet but don’t let that fool you. This dedicated OTR Safety Professional is a highway hero both on and off the road. His safety record has won him awards year after year, and in 2024 he was named FTCT’s Safety Professional of the Year. Congratulations to Jeremy, named by the OTA as and Oklahoma Safety Professional!
Because of amazing OTR Safety Pros like Kevin, Jeremy, and the entire FTCT Team who dedicate themselves to safely helping Feed the Children achieve it’s mission day in and day out, FTC Transportation was awarded 1st Place in our division for overall safety in 2023. It takes every single person to make this happen, and this award belongs to each and every one of them. FTCT Team, congratulations!!
