The Oklahoma Trucking Association (OTA) held their annual Fleet Safety Awards banquet, in conjunction with the Oklahoma Safety & Security Council, and FTC Transportation team members were recognized a total of seven times throughout the night.
The OTA introduced a new award this year, Dispatcher of the Year, and our very own Marcus (Mark) Lindsey was the recipient of this prestigious award. Marcus joined the team in 2016 and has been an asset since day one, bringing with him many years of experience in truck transportation. For his years of service in our beloved industry, and his dedication to safety and taking care of both drivers and customers, this award was well deserved and long overdue.
Additionally, a total of five of our drivers were named as Oklahoma Safety Professionals, and received jackets and awards. These Over-the-Road Safety Professionals are dedicated to safety, professionalism, and customer service and we are honored to call them teammates. The 2024 Oklahoma Safety Professionals are: Tony Lawson, Paul White, Jarius Daniels, Victor Tuckenberry, and Susan Ackeridge. They keep the wheels safely rolling day in and day out.
The FTC Transportation fleet was also honored for our dedication to safety in 2024, receiving second place in our division for Outstanding Achievement in Highway Safety. Every member of the team, whether behind the wheel on the road, under a truck in the shop, or sitting at a desk in the office, is committed to the safety of our team and everyone who we share the road with.
The morning after the awards ceremony, the winners traveled to the Oklahoma Capitol where they were acknowledged and honored by both the House of Representatives and the Senate on the chamber floors of each during Truck Day @ the Capitol.
