We are excited to announce that our own Robert Rossi was named the American Trucking Association’s (ATA) National Driver of the Year this past Thursday evening in Orlando during their National Conference. Robert Rossi joined the FTCT team in 2016, and has been named FTC Transportation’s Driver of the Year for the past two consecutive years. The National Driver of the Year Award program is presented annually to one professional truck driver for his/her exemplary accomplishments and excellent driving attributes. The winner is selected from nominations submitted by each state’s trucking association. Robert was our first driver ever to be named the Oklahoma Driver of the Year, and was then submitted to the ATA by the Oklahoma Trucking Association. This competition judges a driver’s driving record, willingness to assist others on the highway and/or other community service and heroic deeds. The Driver of the Year Award program recognizes the driver’s exceptional achievements, safety record and professionalism, as well as provides positive publicity for the driver, the driver’s company, the state association, and the industry.
During his time with FTCT, Robert has not only been safe and professional, but he has given of his time and abilities to mentor other drivers, offering advice and helping others to achieve success as well. Robert takes care of his assigned equipment, maintains one of the highest miles per gallon averages in the fleet, and conducts himself in a way that represents both FTC Transportation and Feed the Children in an exceptional manner. Robert is a true example of an OTR Safety Professional, and we are honored he has made his home at FTCT.
